Yes, you can travel throughout the UK. However, please inform us beforehand if you plan to visit other countries within Europe, as additional insurance may be required.
We allow pets in selected vehicles for an additional cleaning fee. Please let us know in advance if you’re bringing a pet.
If you experience a breakdown, rest assured that all our hires come with breakdown insurance included. In the event of a breakdown, simply contact our support team, and we will assist you promptly. Our breakdown insurance covers roadside assistance, and if necessary, arrangements for towing the vehicle to a nearby garage. Your safety and convenience are our top priorities, and we’ll ensure you’re back on the road as quickly as possible.
Yes, we offer secure parking for one vehicle per booking, free of charge for the duration of your rental.
To hire a motorhome from compass campers you need to meet certain requirements. You must be aged between 25 and 79 years old for our Transit models, and 30-79 for our VW California models. You need to have held a full driving license for at least 2 years with less than 6 penalty points.
Our campervans are fully equipped to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Each van includes a fridge-freezer, cooker, kettle, crockery, glassware, kitchen utensils, and cooking equipment. Additionally, you’ll find a camping table and chairs, power cable, and gas bottles, providing everything you need for your adventure on the road!
Before returning your campervan to our depot, please follow these steps to ensure a smooth return process:
- Empty the Cassette Toilet and Waste Water Tank:Please dispose of waste at the designated area.
- Remove Rubbish and Waste:Clear out all rubbish and general waste from the motorhome, and make sure to empty the bins.
- Refill the Fuel Tank:Please return the campervan with a full tank of fuel.
- Clean Up:Wash all dishes and ensure the oven and grill are thoroughly cleaned.

Compass Depot is located approximately 7 miles from Edinburgh Airport. For your convenience, we also offer airport pickup and drop-off services when you purchase any of our packages. This ensures a smooth and hassle-free start to your journey!
Yes, more than one person can drive the campervan, provided they meet the driver criteria. You can add an additional driver for a fee of £25. This allows for a more enjoyable and flexible driving experience during your trip!
Unlimited mileage is included with any package purchased.
Yes, a security deposit is required. We take a deposit of £500 unless you purchase the gold package, in which case the deposit will be £250. The £250 deposit is also the maximum excess you’ll pay in the event of an accident if you choose the gold package. If a gold package is not purchased, the security deposit remains at £500, and the excess for any damage is £1000.
Yes, vehicle insurance is included in the hire price. All necessary insurances are covered, ensuring that you have peace of mind during your rental period. This comprehensive coverage protects you and the vehicle, allowing you to focus on enjoying your experience.
Yes, pets are allowed in our vehicles for a surcharge of £75. We understand that pets are part of the family, and we want to ensure they can travel with you. Please make sure to inform us in advance if you plan to bring a pet, and the surcharge can be paid upon arrival.
